Thinking about your transmission
How often do you think about your vehicle’s transmission?
If you are like most people, the answer is “not until it is an issue”.
Once it is an issue, it will be a serious issue.
When a vehicle has not been properly maintained, it will pick the very worst time to break down.
On the way to that important meeting.
In the middle of rush hour traffic.
During the biggest storm of the year.
Maybe our vehicles do that to get back at us for ignoring them.
Maintenance provides the best value
At InTechgrity Automotive Excellence, we are constantly focused on getting the best value out of every vehicle in our system.
The best way to get the most value out of any vehicle is to maintain that vehicle properly.
When maintained properly, a vehicle can run forever (or at least a VERY long time).
Most folks do not think about their transmission until there is a bad sound, hard shifting (which often creates a bad sound), a puddle of fluid under the vehicle, or an inability to use the vehicle.
That is unfortunate, because, like most maintenance issues, a little advanced work, performed at the correct time (of your choosing, not the vehicle’s), can keep the transmission working properly, and for far less money than the kind of repairs that come with improper or unperformed maintenance.
It’s not fun, but it is prudent.
Staying on top of the proper maintenance of your transmission reduces the risk of significant vehicle down time, and significant damage to the transmission.
With our preventive maintenance process, you get the following:
- A scheduled maintenance visit on your timeline, separate from your important meeting, away from traffic, and out of the weather.
- A lower cost than the repairs that are sure to be needed if the proper maintenance is not performed.
- Improved vehicle performance.
- Increased vehicle value.
- Peace of mind knowing that your vehicle is ready for your next important meeting across town in rush hour in the snow.
Scheduled maintenance removes all of those risks, and puts you, well, in the driver’s seat.
At InTechgrity Automotive Excellence, we aim to help you take proper care of your vehicles, so you save money over the long term, and hassle on the way to that important meeting, in the middle of rush hour traffic, during the worst storm of the year.
Maintenance items
Transmission maintenance should be done per the manufacturer’s recommendation at a minimum.
Items may include replacing the pan gasket, cleanup and flush, replacing the transmission filter, and changing the transmission fluid (just like an oil change).
