Bill’s $100.00 bill
A customer came into our shop one evening looking for some suspension work.
We assessed the job, and provided him with a written quote.
When consulting with the customer on the job and costs, the customer did not want to spend the money and said he felt it was just too expensive, so he left just as the day was ending.
Bill, our master tech/assistant manager/all around over the top nice guy was closing that day.
As he locked the front door, Bill noticed another bill in the doorway: the kind of bill with numbers on it. A $100.00 bill. A Benjamin.
Bill had taken a little heat from his last customer about the suspension work, but Bill was certain that the $100.00 was that customer’s money.
Bill called the customer and caught the customer on his way home. Bill explained to the customer that Bill had found some money on the floor in the shop lobby, and suspected that is was the customer’s money.
The customer checked, and advised Bill that he was indeed missing a $100.00 bill.
The customer got his money back, and a good understanding of why our name sounds so much like “integrity”.
Oh, and we earned a lifelong customer. His suspension is great and the job went very well indeed.
